Knative is probably the most prominent container-based serverless platform. You can install it on top of Kubernetes, and several commercial offerings are available. In this slideless session, we will install Knative on top of Kubernetes from scratch and learn the core concepts of Knative with concrete examples. We will see traffic-based scale-to-zero and auto-upscaling in action and how flexible deployment rollout strategies like canary deployments can be implemented with Knative. In the second part, we will see how Knative’s eventing component supports event-driven applications by setting up a complex eventing topology for routing and consuming CloudEvents.
